About

Medical Review & Editorial Policy for Our Seoul Clinic Website

Quick answer

Every treatment and skin-health page on The Heal Dermatology Clinic Jamsil's English website is written for international patients and reviewed for medical accuracy by Dr. Yang Jeong-hwa, a board-certified dermatologist in Seoul. We rely on manufacturer information and mainstream dermatology literature, avoid testimonials and exaggerated claims, and update pages when evidence changes. Questions about any page are welcome.

Who writes and reviews our content?

Pages are drafted in plain English for people considering treatment in Seoul, many of whom are reading in a second language or comparing clinics from abroad. Each medical page is then reviewed by our Medical Director, Dr. Yang Jeong-hwa , a board-certified dermatologist, who checks that descriptions of conditions, devices, recovery and risks are accurate and appropriately cautious.

Where the reviewer asks for changes, the page is corrected before it is published. The "Medically reviewed" line and update date near the top of each page show when the latest review took place.

How we choose our sources

We base medical statements on reliable, mainstream sources rather than marketing claims. These include:

  • Device and product information from manufacturers and their regulatory approvals.
  • Peer-reviewed dermatology literature and established clinical guidance.
  • The clinical experience of a board-certified dermatologist, used to explain how treatments are applied in practice.

We do not cite invented statistics or present single studies as proof. When the evidence is limited or still developing, we say so, and we prefer general, conservative statements over precise numbers that could mislead. Specific outcomes, sessions and downtime always depend on the individual and are confirmed in consultation.

Why there are no testimonials or before-and-after photos

Korea's Medical Service Act places strict limits on how clinics advertise. Patient testimonials, before-and-after comparisons, superlatives such as "best" and promises of specific results are restricted, and discounts are tightly regulated. We follow these rules on our English website just as we would in Korean.

We also think this protects you. Individual photos and stories can create unrealistic expectations, because skin, anatomy and healing differ from person to person. Instead, we explain how a treatment works, who it suits and what range of outcomes is realistic. Results vary, and your own plan is set after an in-person assessment.

Updates, corrections and your questions

Medical knowledge and devices evolve, so pages are revisited periodically and when we learn of new information, such as an updated device generation or revised safety guidance. If we find an error, we correct it promptly and update the review date.

Information on this website is educational and does not replace a medical consultation. If you spot something unclear or have a question about your own situation, please contact us. The best way to get advice specific to your skin is to book a consultation with our dermatologist , in person or by sharing photos before you travel. You can also read our safety standards .

Frequently asked

Medical Review & Editorial Policy: your questions answered

  • Is the information on this website medical advice?

No. Our pages are educational and help you understand options before a consultation. Diagnosis and treatment decisions require an in-person assessment by a doctor who can examine your skin and review your medical history.

  • Why don't you list prices on treatment pages?

Korean medical advertising rules restrict how prices and discounts are promoted, and costs depend on the treatment area, product and plan. We provide an individual estimate after reviewing your photos or examining you.

  • How do I know a page is up to date?

Each page shows a review date near the top. Pages are revisited periodically and whenever we learn of relevant new information, such as a new device generation or updated safety guidance.

  • Can I request a correction?

Yes. If you believe something on a page is inaccurate or unclear, contact us by email or KakaoTalk. The medical team will review your comment and update the page if needed.
