FAQ

Does Rejuran Hurt? What to Expect in Seoul

Quick answer

Rejuran is mildly to moderately uncomfortable: most people feel quick stinging pricks across the face, which numbing cream reduces considerably. Small bumps appear at each injection point and usually flatten within a day or so. At The Heal in Jamsil, Seoul, we numb the skin well and adjust technique so treatment stays tolerable. Ask us on KakaoTalk about comfort options.

Why can Rejuran feel more uncomfortable than other boosters?

Rejuran Healer contains polynucleotides (PN) derived from salmon DNA, a slightly thicker material than many hyaluronic acid boosters. It is placed in many small, shallow injections across the face, which means many pricks. Areas with thin skin, such as around the nose, mouth and under-eyes, tend to feel sharper than the cheeks.

Sensitivity also depends on the day: if you are tired or close to your period, injections may feel more intense. Learn more about the treatment on our Rejuran Healer page.

How we make Rejuran more comfortable

  • Generous topical numbing cream applied ahead of time
  • Fine needles and a steady, unhurried pace
  • Cooling between areas
  • Breaks whenever you need them

Where suitable, some patients receive the product through a device-assisted method instead of individual hand injections. Dr. Yang will suggest the approach that fits your skin and comfort level.

What happens after the injections?

Expect small raised bumps at each point, which usually settle within about a day. Mild redness, swelling and occasional pinpoint bruising can last a few days. Avoid makeup for the rest of the day; our guide on makeup after treatment covers timing.

Skip saunas, alcohol and intense workouts for a day or two, and use gentle skincare and sunscreen. See alcohol and exercise after treatment for details.

Is Rejuran Eye more painful?

The under-eye skin is thin and sensitive, so some people feel Rejuran Eye more sharply, although fewer injection points are used. Bruising is a little more likely in this area. If comfort is a major concern, ask about alternative boosters, or compare options in Rejuran vs Juvelook .

Nervous about the injections? Book your Rejuran session and mention it; we will plan extra numbing time.

Frequently asked

Does Rejuran hurt? Related questions

  • Is Rejuran more painful than Botox?

Usually yes, because it uses many more injection points across the face, while Botox uses only a few targeted injections.

  • Can I go out after Rejuran?

Yes, but bumps may be visible for about a day, so many visitors schedule it on an evening or before a quiet day.

  • Does it hurt more the second time?

Not usually. Many people find later sessions easier because they know what to expect.

  • Who should not get Rejuran?

People who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have active skin infection, or are allergic to fish-derived ingredients should avoid it or discuss alternatives first.
