Pore Tightening Treatment in Seoul: A Combined Approach
Quick answer
Enlarged pores respond best to a combination plan that reduces oil, rebuilds collagen around the follicle and smooths the skin surface. At The Heal in Jamsil, Seoul, a dermatologist typically combines skin Botox, RF microneedling such as Potenza or Secret RF, and lasers, matched to why your pores look large. Most options have little downtime. Send us close-up photos on KakaoTalk for an initial plan.

Why do pores look enlarged?
Pores themselves cannot be removed, but how large they look depends on several factors, and identifying yours is the first step:
- Excess oil: active oil glands stretch the follicle opening, common on the nose and cheeks
- Loss of collagen: with age and sun damage, support around each pore weakens and openings sag into teardrop shapes
- Congestion: blackheads and dead skin make pores more visible
- Scarring: past acne can leave pore-like pits that are actually small scars
Our enlarged pores page covers these causes in more depth. The doctor examines your skin under good light to decide which factor dominates.
The building blocks of a pore plan
- Skin Botox: very small, superficial injections of botulinum toxin can temporarily reduce oil and refine the look of pores for a few months
- RF microneedling: Potenza or Secret RF heats the tissue around follicles to stimulate collagen and tighten support
- Lasers: gentle toning or fractional resurfacing can improve texture and tone; deeper scarred areas may need CO2
- Peels and extraction: clear congestion so pores look cleaner
- Home care: retinoids and oil-control products maintain the result
Most people need two or three of these, not all of them. The doctor explains why each step was chosen and in what order.
Who is a good candidate?
Pore tightening suits adults bothered by visible pores on the cheeks, nose or forehead, especially with oily skin or early loss of firmness. Realistic expectations matter: treatment makes pores look smaller and skin smoother, but pores remain a normal part of skin.
Some steps are postponed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, including skin Botox. RF microneedling and lasers are avoided over active infections or cold sores, and the doctor needs to know about recent isotretinoin use, keloid tendency or implanted electronic devices. Active acne is usually calmed first with acne treatment .
Downtime and travel
Skin Botox has essentially no downtime beyond small bumps that fade within an hour or so. RF microneedling causes redness for one to three days. Gentle lasers usually leave only mild flushing. That makes most pore plans easy to fit into a short visit; you can generally fly the next day.
If deeper resurfacing is recommended for scarred areas, the doctor will discuss timing so healing does not overlap with your flight. To plan your sessions around your stay, book an English consultation and include your arrival and departure dates.
Keeping results over time
Because oil production and aging continue, pore results need maintenance. Skin Botox effects typically last a few months, and many people repeat it seasonally, especially before humid summers. Collagen gained from RF microneedling lasts longer but gradually declines, so an occasional top-up session helps.
At home, a retinoid or retinal product, a gentle BHA a few times a week, non-comedogenic moisturizer and daily sunscreen protect the collagen you build. Results vary from person to person, and the doctor reviews your plan at each visit. Bringing your current products to the consultation helps the doctor fine-tune this routine.
The Heal approach
We start by asking why your pores look large (oil, laxity, congestion or scarring) and build the smallest combination of treatments that addresses that cause.

Frequently asked
Pore Tightening Treatment: your questions answered
Can pores be permanently shrunk?
No treatment removes pores permanently, because they are part of normal skin structure. Treatments reduce oil and strengthen collagen so pores look smaller, and maintenance keeps the improvement. Results vary between individuals.
How long does skin Botox for pores last?
Effects usually last around three to four months, depending on the product, dose and your skin. Many people repeat it before summer or important events. Timing can be adjusted around events or travel.
Which treatment works fastest for pores?
Skin Botox shows refinement within one to two weeks. RF microneedling builds results more slowly over one to three months, but its collagen effect tends to last longer. For many people, combining both gives the most balanced result.
Are pore treatments safe for oily, acne-prone skin?
Yes, when planned by a dermatologist. Oily skin often benefits most. Active inflammation may be treated first, and settings are chosen to avoid triggering new breakouts. The plan is reviewed at each visit.
