Skin Botox in Seoul: Micro Botox for Pores, Oil and Texture
Quick answer
Skin Botox, also called micro Botox, places tiny diluted doses of botulinum toxin into the upper skin rather than the muscle to help reduce oiliness, refine the look of pores and smooth fine texture. At The Heal in Jamsil, Seoul, a dermatologist uses it for a smooth finish. Effects last a few months and vary. Ask us on KakaoTalk whether it suits your skin before your trip.

How is skin Botox different from regular Botox?
Standard Botox is injected into facial muscles to relax expression lines. Skin Botox uses a more diluted solution delivered as many very small, shallow injections into the dermis. At this depth it can reduce the activity of oil and sweat glands and relax the tiny muscle fibres attached to the skin. The result is a smoother, less shiny surface with a finer look to pores, without significantly changing facial expression. It is a texture treatment rather than a wrinkle or lifting treatment. Dilution and spacing are tailored to the area treated.
What can skin Botox help with?
- Oily skin and shine: reduced sebum on the T-zone and cheeks; see oily skin .
- Enlarged-looking pores: a tighter, more even surface; see enlarged pores .
- Fine crepey texture: on the cheeks, under the eyes or neck.
- Neck lines and jaw-neck definition: as part of neck lifting .
Results are individual. Because the effect is subtle and spread over a whole area, the finish looks natural rather than treated. It is often chosen by people who want refinement without changing how their face moves.
Who is a good candidate?
Skin Botox suits adults who are bothered by shine, makeup that slides off by midday, or rough-looking texture and want a smoother canvas, for example before an event. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for people with neuromuscular disorders, or over active acne cysts or infection; active acne may need medical treatment first. Very deep wrinkles or sagging will need other approaches. Dr. Yang will consider whether a skin booster, laser or energy treatment would better address your main concern.
Treatment, recovery and results
After numbing cream, many fine injections are placed across the chosen area. You may see small raised bumps that settle within about 30 minutes to a few hours, and occasionally pinpoint bruises. Makeup can usually be applied the next day. Reduced oiliness and smoother texture often appear within one to two weeks and typically last around three months. Avoid saunas and vigorous exercise on the day. Because there is little downtime, it fits well into a short Seoul trip or a few days before a wedding or photoshoot.
Combining skin Botox with other treatments
Skin Botox works well alongside skin boosters such as Rejuran for hydration and repair, or energy treatments for firmness. Combining a booster with micro Botox is a popular route toward a smooth, glass-skin finish. If you would like to know whether it should be part of your plan, send us your skin concerns and travel dates. Results vary, and we will suggest realistic timing for maintenance. Follow-up can be done by message after you return home, with photos to show how your skin has responded.
The Heal approach
We use skin Botox as a finishing tool, choosing its depth and dilution around whether oil, pores or texture is your main concern.

Frequently asked
Skin Botox (Micro Botox): your questions answered
Will skin Botox change my facial expressions?
Because it is placed superficially and diluted, skin Botox has little effect on facial movement. Expressions stay natural while the skin surface looks smoother. Results vary by area.
Can skin Botox shrink pores permanently?
No. Pores can look smaller and less oily for around three months, but the effect is temporary. Repeat sessions or other treatments maintain the improvement. Daily skincare and sunscreen help.
Is skin Botox good before a wedding?
It can be a good option for a smoother, less shiny complexion. We suggest treatment about two to four weeks before the event so any marks settle and the effect is established.
Does skin Botox hurt?
Numbing cream is applied first, so most people feel quick, light pricks. It is generally well tolerated, though sensitive areas may feel stronger. Ice packs can help afterward.
