How Many Sessions Do Acne Scars Need in Seoul?

Why do acne scars need several sessions?
Acne scars form when inflammation damages collagen deep in the skin. Treatments work by creating controlled injury that prompts new collagen to remodel the scar. Collagen remodeling takes months, so each session gives a partial improvement that builds on the last.
Doing too much in one session raises the risk of side effects such as prolonged redness or pigmentation, which is why steady, spaced sessions are safer. See acne scar treatment in Seoul .
Sessions by scar type
- Rolling scars: often improve with subcision plus RF microneedling over 3 to 5 sessions.
- Boxcar scars: often respond to fractional CO2 or RF microneedling over 3 to 6 sessions.
- Icepick scars: narrow and deep; may need targeted techniques plus more sessions.

Which treatments are combined?

Planning scar treatment as a visitor
Because sessions are spaced weeks apart, travelers often do one stronger session per visit, or two sessions on a longer stay. Downtime varies: RF microneedling usually means a few days of redness, while CO2 laser can mean about a week of healing. Read CO2 laser downtime before booking flights.
Active acne should be controlled first, since new breakouts can create new scars.

Can acne scars be removed completely?
Usually not completely. Most people see a clear softening of depth and texture, which makes scars much less noticeable in normal lighting.
Should I treat active acne first?
Yes. Controlling breakouts first prevents new scars and lowers the risk of irritation during scar treatment.
When will I see results?
Some improvement shows within weeks, but collagen remodeling continues for several months after each session.
Are scar treatments safe for darker skin?
