Why results take time
Radiofrequency heats the dermis, causing an immediate contraction of existing collagen fibers and triggering a slower wound-healing response that produces new collagen. Collagen remodeling is a biological process that takes weeks to months. That is why we usually advise against judging results in the first few weeks, and why taking photos before treatment is helpful for comparing later.
This gradual improvement also tends to look natural, which many patients prefer to a sudden change.
What affects how much improvement you see
Skin thickness, age, sun damage, smoking, weight changes and the degree of laxity all influence results.
