Thermage FLX for Eyes in Seoul: Non-Surgical Eyelid Tightening
Quick answer
Thermage FLX for eyes uses a dedicated radiofrequency eye tip to tighten thin, crepey skin on the upper and lower eyelids and around the eyes, without surgery. At The Heal in Jamsil, Seoul, the dermatologist places protective eye shields before treatment. Results develop gradually over several months, with little to no downtime. Results vary between individuals.

What is Thermage FLX for eyes?
The eyelid skin is the thinnest on the face, so it shows laxity and crepiness early. Thermage FLX uses a small, dedicated eye tip that delivers monopolar radiofrequency energy to the eyelids and the area around the eyes. The heat tightens existing collagen and stimulates new collagen, gradually firming the skin.
Thermage is FDA-cleared for the non-invasive treatment of wrinkles, including the upper and lower eyelids. It does not involve incisions, and treatment can be combined with facial Thermage in the same session when planned by the doctor. Many patients choose it because it fits easily into a short trip.
Concerns it can help
- Mild hooding of the upper eyelid, where skin begins to rest on the lash line
- Crepey lower-lid skin with fine, papery wrinkles
- Fine lines at the outer corners that remain when the face is relaxed
- A tired look caused by loose skin rather than volume loss
Eye Thermage does not remove fat bags or treat significant excess skin. Where hollowness is the main problem, options such as Rejuran Eye or under-eye filler may suit better, and moderate to severe hooding may need surgical assessment. The doctor examines the brow position, lid skin and under-eye area together before recommending a plan.
Safety: protective eye shields
Treating close to the eye requires care. Before the procedure, the doctor places protective plastic eye shields, similar to contact lenses, after applying anaesthetic eye drops. These shields protect the eyeball from radiofrequency energy while the skin over the lids is treated. They are removed straight after treatment.
You may feel brief warmth and pressure. Because the eye area is delicate, energy settings are chosen conservatively. Treatment is not suitable during pregnancy, with active eye or skin infection, or for people with certain eye conditions; tell the doctor about recent eye surgery or contact lens problems.
Recovery, results and pairing with other treatments
Mild redness and puffiness around the eyes are common for a day or two. You can usually resume normal activities, including flying, the next day; avoid rubbing the eyes and eye makeup for the first day. Tightening develops over two to six months, giving a more open, rested look, and results vary. A cold compress can help with puffiness on the first evening.
For broader eye-area rejuvenation, the doctor may combine Thermage eye with brow lifting or skin boosters. See Eye & Brow Lifting and the full Thermage FLX page, or send a photo of your eye area for advice.
The Heal approach
We treat the eyes conservatively, with shields in place and settings matched to how thin your eyelid skin is, because subtle improvement here looks most natural.

Frequently asked
Thermage FLX for Eyes: your questions answered
Are eye shields uncomfortable?
Most patients tolerate them well. Anaesthetic eye drops are applied first, so you feel little more than mild pressure. The shields are in place only during treatment and are removed immediately afterwards.
Can Thermage eye replace eyelid surgery?
Not in all cases. It suits mild hooding and crepey skin. Significant excess skin or fat bags usually need surgical correction, and the doctor will tell you honestly which approach fits.
When will I see results from Thermage eye?
Some patients notice slight tightening soon after treatment, but the main improvement builds over two to six months as new collagen forms. Results vary between individuals.
Can I wear contact lenses after treatment?
It is best to avoid contact lenses for the rest of the day and wear glasses instead. Ask the doctor if your eyes feel irritated before resuming lenses. Lubricating eye drops can help if your eyes feel dry.
