Eye and Brow Lifting in Seoul: Non-Surgical Options

Quick answer

Non-surgical eye and brow lifting uses focused ultrasound, Sofwave or Thermage eye treatment to gently raise heavy brows, tighten upper-lid skin and smooth crepey texture around the eyes. At The Heal in Jamsil, Seoul, a dermatologist selects the device based on your skin and anatomy. Changes are subtle and build over months, and results vary. What causes heavy brows and hooded eyes?

With age the brow gradually descends, the skin of the upper eyelid loosens and thins, and the tissue around the eye loses collagen. The result can be a tired look, hooding that sits on the lashes, and fine crepey lines. In some people, strong muscle activity also pulls the brow down. Surgery can remove excess skin, but many patients with mild to moderate change prefer to start with non-surgical options that preserve their natural eye shape. A careful assessment distinguishes skin laxity from fat bulging or true eyelid drooping, which needs a different referral.

Which devices are used around the eyes?

Several technologies can treat the delicate eye area, each at a different depth:

  • Ultherapy Prime: focused ultrasound along the forehead and brow line to support a gentle brow lift.
  • Sofwave: ultrasound energy at a fixed mid-dermal depth that can tighten fine lines around the brow and eye area.
  • Thermage FLX eye: radiofrequency with a dedicated eye tip, used on the upper and lower lids with protective eye shields.

Combinations are common: ultrasound for brow support and radiofrequency for lid skin texture. Dr. Yang will explain which combination suits your brow position, lid skin and comfort level.

Who is a good candidate?

Good candidates have mild to moderate brow descent, early hooding or crepey lid skin, and want a natural, rested look rather than a dramatic change. Results are less noticeable when large amounts of excess skin are present. We do not treat during pregnancy, with active eye infections or inflammation, or soon after eye surgery. Please tell us about contact lenses, dry eye, recent lash procedures or eyelid fillers. Botox placed below the outer brow may also add a subtle lift for some patients; see Botox .

Safety, comfort and recovery

Treating close to the eyes requires precision. Protective shields are used for Thermage eye, and energy is adjusted for the very thin skin of the eyelid. You may feel warmth and brief stinging; topical numbing helps. Afterward, mild redness or puffiness can last a few hours to a couple of days. You can usually wear makeup the next day. Worried about the flight home? Swelling is typically slight, and most visitors fly comfortably within a day or two. Sunglasses and daily sunscreen help protect the delicate skin.

What results to expect

The goal is a fresher version of your own eyes, not a different look. Expect gradual refinement rather than a sudden change: brows may sit slightly higher, the eye looks more open, and lid texture becomes smoother over two to three months as collagen remodels. Many patients maintain results with yearly treatment. To see whether your eye area is suitable, book a consultation or send a photo first. Individual outcomes vary, and sleep, sun exposure and eye rubbing all influence how long the effect lasts.

The Heal approach

We separate brow descent, lid skin laxity and muscle pull so the eye area is lifted gently without changing its natural shape.

Frequently asked

Eye & Brow Lifting: your questions answered

  • Can non-surgical treatment replace eyelid surgery?

Not when there is a large amount of excess skin or true eyelid drooping. For mild to moderate hooding, devices can give a meaningful, natural improvement and may delay the need for surgery.

  • Is treating near the eyes safe?

When performed by trained doctors with the right settings and eye protection, these devices are well established. Dr. Yang adjusts energy for thin lid skin and avoids risky zones. Patient comfort is checked throughout.

  • How soon will I see a brow lift?

Some tightening may be noticed early, but most lifting develops over two to three months as new collagen forms. Fine texture often improves before the brow lift becomes visible.

  • Can I wear contact lenses for Thermage eye?

Lenses are removed before the treatment because protective eye shields are placed. Bring glasses or a lens case to your appointment. You can put lenses back in once any redness settles, usually the same day.
