Language & Interpretation Support for Skin Treatment in Seoul

Quick answer

At The Heal in Jamsil, consultations with Dr. Yang are held in English, and your plan and aftercare are confirmed in writing by KakaoTalk or email, so nothing gets lost in translation. If you prefer another language, you can bring a companion or use Korea's free 1330 tourist interpretation line. Message us on KakaoTalk with photos and travel dates to start.

English consultations with the doctor

Medical decisions deserve clear communication. At The Heal, Dr. Yang discusses your concerns, examination findings, options, risks and recovery with you in English, and you are welcome to ask as many questions as you need. If a medical term is unfamiliar, ask us to explain it simply. We would rather spend extra time than have you leave unsure. Learn more on our English-speaking dermatologist page.

You can also write down your questions in advance; it is an easy way to make sure nothing is forgotten on the day.

Written communication before and after treatment

Messaging helps when accents, jet lag or nerves make conversation harder. Before your trip, you can send photos and questions by KakaoTalk or email and read our replies at your own pace. After treatment, you receive aftercare instructions in English, and you can message us with follow-up questions. Having everything in writing also makes it easier to share details with a doctor at home if ever needed. See online consultation before you fly for what to send.

If English is not your first language

Many international patients speak English as a second language, and that is fine; we keep explanations simple and confirm key points in writing. For other languages, practical options include:

  • Bringing a companion who can interpret for you during the consultation.
  • Korea's 1330 Travel Helpline , run by the Korea Tourism Organization, which offers interpretation by phone in several languages, with English, Japanese and Chinese available around the clock.
  • Translation apps for simple questions, though not for medical consent on their own.

Please tell us your preferred language when you book so we can plan the consultation.

Booking from abroad, step by step

  1. Message us on KakaoTalk or email with photos, concerns and travel dates, in English.
  2. We reply in writing with a suggested plan and timing.
  3. Confirm your appointment.
  4. Meet Dr. Yang in person for an English consultation, then treatment if suitable.

Pricing is quoted after the in-person consultation so it reflects your final plan. Book an English consultation , or read how to book an appointment .

Understanding consent and aftercare

Informed consent means understanding what will be done, what to expect and what could go wrong. Do not sign or agree to anything you do not fully understand; ask us to rephrase or put it in writing. The same applies to aftercare: you should know what is normal, what is not, and how to reach us. If you are worried about anything once you are home, read follow-up care after you return home or message us with your question .

The Heal approach

We confirm every plan and aftercare instruction in writing as well as in conversation, so you can reread it later and share it with anyone you trust.
