Wart and Skin Growth Removal in Seoul: Warts, Milia, Skin Tags
Quick answer
Warts, milia and skin tags are common, usually harmless skin growths that a dermatologist can remove quickly once the diagnosis is confirmed. At The Heal in Jamsil, Seoul, a board-certified dermatologist chooses the right method for each growth, such as laser, cryotherapy, extraction or snip removal. Most treatments take minutes, and small areas heal within days to two weeks. Send photos to check which method fits your trip.

Diagnosis first
Common skin growths we treat
- Warts: rough growths caused by human papillomavirus (HPV), common on hands, feet and face. Flat warts are smaller and smoother.
- Milia: tiny, hard white bumps caused by trapped keratin, often around the eyes and cheeks
- Skin tags: soft, small flaps of skin on the neck, underarms or eyelids, often caused by friction
- Syringomas: small, firm skin-colored bumps, usually under the eyes
- Other benign growths such as seborrheic keratoses
Because some growths look alike, and a few lesions need medical investigation, the doctor confirms what each one is before treatment. Any changing or unusual lesion is assessed as described on our mole removal page.
Removal methods
The doctor matches the method to the growth:
- Warts: cryotherapy (freezing), CO2 laser or topical treatments; stubborn warts often need repeat sessions because the virus can persist in surrounding skin
- Milia: gentle extraction through a tiny opening, or precise laser for many small lesions
- Skin tags: quick snip removal or laser after local anesthetic
- Syringomas: precise CO2 laser in carefully planned sessions
Most treatments use local anesthetic or numbing cream for comfort. The goal is effective removal with the smallest possible mark. The doctor explains the expected healing for each method before you decide.
Who is a good candidate?
Anyone with bothersome warts, milia, skin tags or similar benign growths can benefit, especially when lesions are on the face, catch on clothing, or keep returning despite home treatment. Warts on the soles of the feet or around nails often respond better with professional care.
Treatment may be adjusted during pregnancy, with active infection nearby, or for people with diabetes or circulation problems, particularly for warts on the feet. Tell the doctor about any medications, keloid tendency or immune conditions. Genital warts and lesions that bleed, grow quickly or look unusual need specific medical evaluation. Results vary, and warts can recur.
Healing and recurrence
Healing depends on the method. After milia extraction, tiny marks usually fade within a few days. Skin tag removal leaves a small spot that heals within about a week. Laser or freezing for warts can leave a blister or crust that heals over one to two weeks.
Keep treated areas clean and covered if advised, and avoid picking. Warts are caused by a virus, so new ones can appear, and treated warts may need additional sessions. Milia and skin tags can also develop again over time. Using sunscreen on healing facial skin helps prevent temporary darkening.
Treatment during a trip to Seoul
Most growths can be assessed and removed in a single short visit, making them easy to fit into travel plans. Milia and skin tag removal usually leave only small marks that are easy to cover. Warts may need follow-up sessions every few weeks, so the doctor can suggest how to continue treatment at home if you are only in Seoul briefly.
Flying after these treatments is generally fine; just keep dressings clean and dry. To plan your visit, share photos and your travel dates , and see our first visit guide for what to expect.
The Heal approach
We identify each bump before we treat it, then pick the gentlest method that removes it cleanly, from simple extraction to precise laser.

Frequently asked
Wart & Skin Growth Removal: your questions answered
Are warts contagious?
Yes, warts are caused by HPV and can spread through direct contact or shared surfaces. Avoid picking them, keep them covered and do not share towels or razors to reduce spread.
Can milia be removed safely at home?
It is best not to squeeze milia at home, as the keratin is trapped under the skin and picking can cause marks or infection. A dermatologist can remove them cleanly in minutes.
Do skin tags grow back after removal?
A removed skin tag usually does not return in the same place, but new ones can form, especially in areas of friction. They can be removed again easily.
How many sessions do warts need?
Small warts may clear after one or two sessions, but stubborn or plantar warts often need several, spaced two to four weeks apart. The doctor adjusts the plan to your response.
