FAQ
How Long Does Sculptra Take to Work? Seoul Guide
Quick answer
Sculptra works gradually: the initial fullness from the injection fluid fades within a few days, then new collagen builds over about 6 to 12 weeks, with results continuing to improve for several months. Most people need 2 to 3 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. At The Heal in Jamsil, Seoul, we plan sessions around your timeline. Share your dates on KakaoTalk to plan sessions.

Why isn't Sculptra instant?
Sculptra is poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a collagen stimulator rather than a classic filler. Right after injection your face looks fuller because of the water used to mix the product, but that water is absorbed within days and the face returns close to baseline. This is expected.
Over the following weeks the PLLA particles prompt your skin to build its own collagen, which restores volume gradually and naturally. You can read about candidacy and technique on our Sculptra in Seoul page.
Month-by-month timeline
- Days 1–7: swelling and temporary fullness settle.
- Weeks 4–6: early collagen response; time for a second session.
- Months 2–3: visible, soft improvement in hollows and skin firmness.
- Months 3–6: results continue to mature after the final session.
Because change is slow, comparing photos taken in the same light is the best way to judge progress. Results vary with age, skin quality and the number of vials used.
How long do Sculptra results last?
Once collagen has formed, results commonly last up to about two years, longer than most hyaluronic acid fillers. Natural aging continues, so many people choose a single maintenance session every year or two.
Sculptra suits gradual volume loss in the temples, cheeks and lower face. For sharp, immediate definition, a hyaluronic acid filler may fit better; see loss of facial volume and flat temples for how we choose.
Planning Sculptra as an international patient
Because sessions are spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, Sculptra works best if you visit Seoul more than once or live nearby. If you can only come once, one session still gives some improvement, and you may continue with a qualified doctor at home. Remember that Sculptra cannot be dissolved, so choose an experienced injector.
Massage of the treated area for a few days afterward is often recommended. For trip planning, see how long to stay in Seoul .

Frequently asked
How long does Sculptra take to work? Related questions
Why did my Sculptra result disappear after a few days?
That early fullness is the mixing water, which the body absorbs. The real result comes from collagen that develops over the next weeks.
Can I combine Sculptra with lifting?
Yes. Energy-based lifting such as Ultherapy Prime and collagen stimulation work well together; we plan the order and spacing at consultation.
Is Sculptra painful?
Discomfort is usually mild. The product is often mixed with lidocaine, and we use numbing cream and careful technique.
Who should avoid Sculptra?
It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, over active skin infection, or for people prone to keloids without careful discussion.
