Smooth Neck in Seoul: Tighten Skin and Soften Neck Lines
Quick answer
A smooth neck has firm skin, a clean jaw-to-neck angle and soft horizontal lines. It is achieved without surgery by tightening loose skin with ultrasound or radiofrequency, improving crepey texture with skin boosters, and relaxing neck bands with Botox. At The Heal in Jamsil, Seoul, a dermatologist builds a phased plan for your neck. Results build over two to three months and vary. Book an English consultation to get started.

What a smooth neck looks like
The neck often shows age before the face because its skin is thinner, has fewer oil glands and is frequently left out of sunscreen routines. A smooth-neck goal addresses several separate changes:
- Loose neck skin and a softened jaw-to-neck angle
- Horizontal neck lines , sometimes deepened by looking down at phones
- Vertical platysmal bands that appear when the neck muscle tightens
- Crepey texture and uneven pigment from sun exposure
Each has a different cause, which is why neck plans usually combine more than one treatment. Fullness under the chin is covered separately in our double chin page.
Your plan in three phases
- Phase 1 – Tighten (week 0): neck lifting with Ultherapy Prime targets the deeper layers, while Thermage FLX or Sofwave firm the skin surface.
- Phase 2 – Improve texture (2–4 weeks later): skin boosters such as Rejuran Healer or Juvelook injected along the lines to improve crepey skin and soften creases.
- Phase 3 – Relax bands (optional): Botox along platysmal bands to soften vertical cords and support the jawline.
Phases 1 and 2 are often enough for horizontal lines and mild laxity.
The doctor explains which phases suit your neck, and many visitors complete Phase 1 on their first day.
Combinations that work well
The neck responds best to a combination of depth and surface work. Ultherapy plus a booster series is a common pairing: ultrasound lifts the deeper tissue, while boosters improve the quality of thin, creased skin. When the jawline is also softening, the neck plan is often combined with our sharper jawline approach so the two areas blend smoothly.
Because neck skin is delicate, energy levels are set carefully and treatments are spaced to let skin recover. If you have thyroid conditions or recent neck surgery, tell the doctor, as this may change which devices are suitable.
Maintenance and daily habits
Neck lifting results build for two to three months, and boosters improve texture over several weeks. Typical maintenance includes an annual lifting session, booster top-ups every few months and Botox for bands every three to four months if used.
- Extend sunscreen and moisturizer down to the neck and chest every day
- Raise your phone or screen to eye level to reduce constant neck bending
- Use a retinoid on the neck only gradually, as the skin is sensitive
Results vary between individuals, and continued aging means maintenance is part of a realistic plan.
Neck treatment on a short trip
Visitors often ask whether neck treatments leave visible marks. Ultrasound and RF tightening usually cause only mild redness or tenderness, so you can travel the next day. Booster injections can leave small bumps along the lines for a day or two and occasionally small bruises, which a scarf or high collar easily covers. Treatments are postponed during pregnancy or if there is active skin infection. See aftercare while traveling , then send us a photo of your neck for a personal plan.

Frequently asked
Smooth Neck: your questions answered
Can neck lines be removed?
Neck lines can be softened noticeably with skin boosters, tightening devices and good skincare, but deep creases rarely disappear completely. A series of treatments usually gives the best improvement, and results vary.
Is Ultherapy safe for the neck?
Yes. Ultherapy Prime is commonly used on the neck and under the chin. Real-time ultrasound imaging lets the doctor see the tissue layers, and energy is adjusted for thinner neck skin.
What causes vertical neck bands?
Vertical bands come from the platysma muscle, which becomes more visible with age and skin laxity. Botox can relax these bands temporarily, and lifting helps tighten the skin around them.
When will I see results on my neck?
Boosters improve texture over several weeks, while lifting results build over two to three months. Botox for neck bands softens them within one to two weeks. Results vary between individuals.
